Day One
Hey peeps. Day one was a rough start but we over came. Not a ton of pics or video from today but here is a summary of our day.
First we met at Tommy's house at 530am for the ritual of beef jerky and beer, no matter the time of a road trip it is always the way to begin.

We gathered ourselves and began our mancation. We headed out of Spring Grove on Route 12 to Route 43. From there we made our way to Highway 11 in Wisconsin and took that all the way to Dubuque. In Dubuque we got on highway 20 for the Highway 20 Ride. We ran 20 all the way across Iowa. Highway 20 is is big man friendly and a lot of room for everyone to move around. West of Waterloo Iowa we took 35 South and headed towards Missouri. |

When we crossed into Missouri the very first thing we saw is a motorcycle shop, State Line Cycle. I am guessing the shop makes a killing on helmets, because Missouri is a helmet state. Helmets SUCK. We only brought them because they are mandatory and and we only needed them for one hour. In that hour the helmets managed to give us both headaches and almost vibrated our brains into oblivion.
From 35 we ran Route 2 west to 148 South and then 71 south into St. Joseph Missouri. Hampton Inn was our home for the night.
The good was it was a safe, warm and fun ride. We are vacation for 17 days how could it be bad... The bad was I was as sick as I have been in a years and I had $60 CVS visit for cold and allergy meds. Hence the lack of pictures, videos and such.
Total miles today was 578 and the bikes were running long and strong.
See ya tomorrow!
