Day Two - July 8th
Wow are we lucky. Except for the fact that my new amp melted my front tweeters on my speakers today, we had a superb day. Thank you Dr. Tommy for the audio surgery assistance. We traveled 440 sun filled miles from Eau Claire Wisconsin to Jamestown North Dakota. Wisconsin- CHECK. Minnesota- CHECK!
If you thought of the perfect blue skies spotted with puffy white clouds that was us today. We should be off the highways and onto the byways soon. These two days are the long part but still fun. We should be in Montana tomorrow and and the rest of the trip will be beautiful. Not too many pics today but we did manage a few.

Surprise, we stopped at Harley store. Here is Tommy looking high, wide and handsome at this store. He is lucky to be alive, but he has his new Bad Boy air horn to thank, it paid for itself today, a few times. As a matter a fact Tom used his horn so much today that he rattled the cover right off of it. Nothing a little RTV silicone couldn't fix.
It was also at this Harley stop we realized melted speakers were nothing compared to the guy we met, Ryan, who had been there for six hours. He lost his electrical supply. We had a few cold beers in our saddlebag so we lightened his mood with an ice cold bud lite...in a can.
I bought a long sleeve T-Shirt in preparation for the cool weather at elevation. Hard to imagine cool weather in the middle of summer but it's coming.

Let's see, what else.... we crossed the Mississippi and Red Rivers as well as the Continental Divide. I had to laugh to myself as we pulled into Fargo, all I can think about is the movie. Yeah I dont think Fargo is known for much else, sorry Fargo. Well it is late and Tommy is sawing logs behind me already and I am still smelly from the road so I better scoot.

We met these fine gents in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express as we were calling it a night. This is Joe on the left and Dwight on the right. We had just finished dinner and took our bikes to a car wash for a fluff and puff and then purchased our disposable socks and underwear from the Walmart when we were climbing off and locking up. They boys had come across the parking lot to give fellow bikers a hand shake and see what we were up to. They are from the St Cloud area and they left this morning heading of all places, the Canadian Rockies. We will be close to them at several points on our trip so I grabbed Dwights number and will probably give them a surprise phone call to see if they can meet us for breakfast in a few days. They are both on Honda Goldwings and their rides looked comfy as well. By the way Dwight, thanks for serving our country during the war! Joe I think we are counting on your technical skills to share this site with Dwight. Safe Journeys to these guys as well.
