Welcome
We have been weaving in and out of the mountains and scenery is beautiful. Fitting that the sign welcoming us to the Northern Rockies displays a bear. Check out the pics below for the decent size black bear we saw today
This Guy Had No Brakes
His name was Sam and he was from St Louis. He was riding by himself back to St Louis from Prudhoe Bay Alaska and he burnt up his brakes. He said he was on his way to the dealership in Edmonton, I think Edmonton was like 1200 miles from there. Hopefully Sam did not have to stop quickly.
In the white pick up and the Dodge Sprinter behind Sam were a couple good ole boys. Verne Estes from Basin Wyoming and LeRoy Whatshisname. The inside of that white Sprinter was set up pretty sweet. Verne says he basically lives out of there half the year. He had a dresser, propane stove and all the good comfies of the road. Verne said he spends the winters in South Padre Island Texas and he and LeRoy were going fishing near Fairbanks and they were going to stay until ....they were ready to leave.

Short Travel Day
We only did about 250 miles today because of bad weather early this morning. We landed in Fort Nelson British Columbia for the night, and yet another town where gas and oil are king. Check out a few pics to see the captions
